Diabetes Awareness Month at Biodeal
Diabetes continues to affect more families across Kenya, often without early symptoms. Many people only discover it when complications begin.
During Diabetes Awareness Month in 2025, we chose to focus on early detection.
We hosted a diabetes medical camp at our premises and opened it to employees, neighbours, and members of the surrounding community. The goal was simple: make screening accessible and encourage people to know their numbers.
Throughout the day, attendees came in for blood sugar testing and consultations. Some had postponed screening for years. Others came out of curiosity. For a few, it was their first time checking their levels.
Healthcare professionals on site explained results clearly and offered practical guidance on diet, lifestyle, and next steps where necessary.
The medical camp reflected something important to us. Supporting health does not end with manufacturing. It includes showing up for the community around us.
